Scene

This entremés (a short, one-act play) takes place in one location in Madrid.

Staging

Trampagos needs mourning clothes, including a large black cloak. Vademecum brings on two fencing swords, and later some chairs, at least one of which is old and broken.  Some of the pimps and prostitutes carry knives or other weapons, and some have flasks of wine or brandy. The two musicians have guitars (they are mentioned in the text). When Escarramán appears, he looks as if he has just broken out of jail, in a prison uniform with a chain still hanging off him. Music

There is music and dancing at the end, with a solo dance performed by Escarramán.
